The Smart Studios Story documentary is being released on DVD, along with a vinyl release of the soundtrack to the film.

Directed and co produced by Wendy Schneider, the film chronicles the history and impact of the Madison Wisconsin based Smart Studios, which was founded by Butch Vig and Steve Marker in the early 1980’s. The dvd follows the documentaries premiere at SXSW this year, where it was met with positive reviews. Along with the DVD release is the announcement of the accompanying vinyl soundtrack which will feature music from bands that worked and produced in Smart Studios over the years. Smart Studios is famous for producing bands such as Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Death Cab For Cutie and Garbage.

The documentary and soundtrack will see a digital release in 2017.
