Håvard Volden announces his new album, Small Lives, will drop on July 18th 2025 via Sauajazz. Ahead of the LP’s arrival, the Norwegian artist has shared its title track. After years of sonic experimentations with guitars and electronics in projects including Moon Relay and Lost Girls, the art-pop project co-founded with longtime collaborator Jenny Hval, Volden has returned to his main instrument with renewed curiosity and a new band: Guoste Tamulynaite (synthesizers), Adrian Myrh (bass) and JanMartin Gismervik (drums). On Small Lives, the guitar takes center stage as Volden uses alternative tunings and an exploratory approach to form the foundation for a new musical direction, resulting in a beautiful album with an honest and organic sound.
