Sleaford Mods have announced a 2022 North America tour. Along with the news, the UK duo have dropped a their cover of “Don’t Go” by Yazoo straight from their studio. Vividly switched on by Andrew Fearne’s electronic flourishes, while Jason Williamson’s vocals infuse the 1982 track with a playful edge.

As one of the most politically charged, thought-provoking bands of today, Sleaford Mods have made a name for themselves worldwide with their unrivaled bite and wit, railing against hypocrisy, inequality and apathy with their inimitable sense of humor. Their newest record, 2021’s Spare RiSleaford Mods Spare Ribsbs, which features Amy Taylor of Melbourne punks Amyl and The Sniffers and British newcomer Billy Nomates, finds the duo again plugged into the zeitgeist. The result is a band at their most inspired, continuing the poppier approach that they began to explore on their 2019 album Eton Alive. Fearn’s beats are at their most complex, his songwriting at its most full-bodied, at times veering into full-on electro-pop. Williamson credits singer-songwriters such as Alex Cameron and Aldous Harding for his greater lyrical and vocal inventiveness on Spare Ribs, rather than the rappers he has drawn from in the past.
