Shark Week Stream ‘Beach Fuzz’ album

Shark Week stream their forthcoming album 'Beach Fuzz,' which will be out May 18 via Papercup

Shark Week, the Washington DC band, have shared their debut album, Beach Fuzz, this week, prior to its release this Monday, May 18 on PaperCup Music. Shark Week will play a release show in DC this Saturday night, with a special performance at the Dance Loft on 14th, a converted movie theater, before starting their tour May 30 in Chicago, with good friends, Crocodiles June 1-7, ending in New York and Brooklyn for Northside Festival, June 11 at The Living Room (PaperCup Music showcase).

With a flash of red hair, streaking across the stage, and the devil dancing in his eye, Ryan Hunter Mitchell delivers nervy, Richard-Hellish vocals over Alberto Pacheco’s jangly, glam-rock-inspired electric licks. Danielle Vu’s pulsating bass lines and Dan Newhauser’s loose, pounding drums anchor the group. Shark Week keeps one foot planted in the past, drawing inspiration from sources as diverse as David Bowie, The New York Dolls, the Velvet Underground and Ennio Morricone.
