set dressing, the Mandy, Indiana side-project, has dropped i can’t be alone tonite, their debut EP is out now via Fire Talk. Along with the release, they have shared a music video for its title track. set dressing is an anonymous project represented only by an avatar, and today’s “i can’t be alone tonite” music video puts that avatar front and center. A nostalgic karaoke-style visual, the “i can’t be alone tonite” video sees set dressing dancing amidst classic art, granular nature b-roll. The EP follows singles “date line” and “class valedictorian.”

The EP’S self-produced tracks span from instrumental drones to propulsive 80s-inflected tracks, and invoke striking samples to create an entirely singular debut. i can’t be alone tonite marks the beginning of an unsettling journey, but it’s an adventure led by those familiar with treks toward uncharted territory.

set dressing will make their live debut this Saturday, April 12th at Manchester’s 𝐏𝟑 𝑨𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑬𝒗𝒆. It’s one of two live audio-visual performances currently announced for the project, which emerges from the minds behind Mandy, Indiana. Following this weekend’s live debut, set dressing will perform at Sounds From the Other City Festival in Salford on May 4th.
