Sego Remix and Tour with Big Black Delta

Sego release remix of “The Fringe” by Cellar Door,

L.A duo Sego has announced more dates for their Spring tour, including a handful of dates with Big Black Delta. Sego are presently on the road with Mothers. The new dates, include stops in Brooklyn at Baby’s All Right, Stubbs in Austin and in Toronto as part of Canadian Music Week before heading over to Europe.

To celebrate the tour launch, Sego has released a remix of “The Fringe” done by Cellar Door. “The Fringe centers around lead singer Spencer’s observations of today’s technologically stimulated culture – written from the perspective of someone who doesn’t own a smartphone. “Los Angeles has particularly cold concert/party habits/” say Spencer. “The movie Swingers illustrated this idea very well back in 1996. It used to be my favorite film before living here. It’s funny how nothing much has changed in 20 years except the fact that everyone has a phone to keep them company so they don’t even have to pretend to be interested.”

Sego’s latest record Once Was Lost Now Just Hanging Around was released via Dine Alone Records last month, and the duo collaborated with noted visual artist Gustavo Torres (a.k.a Kidmograph) to create visual loops to accompany each of their songs. Once Was Lost Now Just Hanging Around is Sego’s third release, having previously released two wildly inventive EP’s Wicket Youth (Kitsune Records) and Long Long Way From The Fringe, which was their debut with Dine Alone Records.
