“Runner” by Dunes

Dunes, the Los Angeles band, have shared their new video for the single “Runner” ahead of their forthcoming release Bitter Charm, the album drops March 12th. The new video, directed by Clare Kelly, was shot all around L.A. with a handful of musician friends making cameos, including members of Wavves, Lucky Dragons and Roses. Dunes, play their record release show on March 12th in Los Angeles, at Non Plus Ultra.

On Bitter Charm, the four piece take their whimsical pop to new extremes, working late nights in the studio with producer Alex DeGroot (Zola Jesus) experimenting with ghostly sounds, spacey synths, special effects, surreal instrumentation and focusing on meticulous production and song-writing more than ever before. On the album, Dunes draw inspiration from Can to The Cure to Cocteau Twins

The band was born from the ashes of some of L.A.’s most beloved yet retired punk bands that emerged from The Smell, featuring former members of Finally Punk/The Carrots (Stephanie Chan, Vocals, Guitar), Mika Miko (Kate Hall, Drummer), Talbot Tagora (Mark Greshowak, Guitar, Synths) and Abe Vigoda (David Reichardt, Guitar, Bass, Synths).

The album maps together years of song-writing, personal experiences and celebrates nostalgia for its contribution to the present, and what it takes to arrive at where we are each day. Bitter Charm will be available digitally and on limited-edition cassette via London label, Negative Space.
