Run The Jewels headline Pygmalion

Run The Jewels, will be headlining The Pygmalion Festival in 2015, with Purity Ring, and many more.

Run The Jewels, will be headlining The Pygmalion Festival in 2015, on the same stage as Canadian dream pop artists Purity Ring. British shoegaze legends RIDE, Sylvan Esso, and indie pioneers tUnE-yArDs, will also perform headline shows at this year’s festival, now in its 11th year.

Also joining the lineup is as follows: Savoy, Patrick Watson, Moon Duo, Nick Diamonds, Caspian, Braids, Owen, Pujol, Pure Bathing Culture, Wild Ones, Psalm One, Diane Coffee, American Wrestlers, NE-HI, and many many more.

They are added to a bill that already included Zola Jesus, Strand of Oaks, Whitey Morgan, K.Flay, Ryley Walker, Bully, Beach Slang, Sarah Jaffe, Truly, White Reaper, and many more.

This year’s festival kicks off Wednesday, September 23 and runs over four days and five nights through Sunday, September 27.

The Pygmalion Festival, which now includes a TECH component in addition to Music, Literature and the Made Fest, takes place in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. C-U is home to the University of Illinois and one of the world’s most recognized community colleges, Parkland College. The festival takes place throughout C-U and includes two main stages in the heart of Downtown Champaign. A portion of the festival will take place within the walls of Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, the marquee partner in the festival, hosting MUSIC, LIT and TECH festival components on Friday, September 25.

In partnership with University of Illinois’ literary journal, Ninth Letter, the Literature bill will feature nationally appreciated authors including BRIAN EVENSON, who has authored twelve books of fiction, National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize Finalist ADRIAN MATEJKA, and Whiting Award Winner, ELENA PASSARELLO. Joining them will be the groundbreaking poet LADAN OSMAN, Pitchfork Senior Editor JESSICA HOPPER, as well as JENNINE CAPÓ CRUCET, MARCUS WICKER, CHLOE CALDWELL, MICHAEL CZYZNIEJEWSKI, JANAKA STUCKY, MARK NEELY, JAIME BRUNTON, RUSS EVATT, and many more. Adding to the fun will be the highly popular stage show, MORTIFIED, which celebrates “stories revealed through the strange and extraordinary things we created as kids.”

The Pygmalion Made Fest returns to the corner of Market and Main in Downtown Champaign on Saturday September 26 and Sunday September 27, 2015.
