“Rumble Strip” By Ben Howard

Recently, UK artist Ben Howard made his song “Rumble Strip” available for the first time on DSPs. It was previously released on the vinyl deluxe version of his 2021 album Collections from The Whiteout. The track was recorded with The National’s Aaron Dessner on Howard’s last visit to the U.S. at Dessner’s Long Pond Studios in upstate New York.

“Rumble Strip” marks the first bit of new music from Ben Howard since the release of his latest album Is It?. He returns to North American in support of the LP with dates kicking off in Montreal on July 12 and concluding on July 23 in Denver, CO. Ben and his band will play at Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn, NY on July 18th.

The song touches on the meditational and the video, shot by award winning filmmaker Allan Wilson was filmed in the Balearics. Ben says, “”Moonraker” speaks to the joy of fruitless things, of pointless endeavours. And climbing in the Spanish mountains.”

Is It? is Ben Howard’s fifth studio album and it was released via Island Records UK. Alongside his band, Ben recorded the album over 10 days in the Le Manoir de Léon studios in the South of France. Produced by Bullion (Westerman, Nilüfer Yanya, Orlando Weeks), the record is a lush, sonically splintered album which captures Howard working through moments of seismic shift. The album’s striking artwork was designed by Portuguese graphic design and illustrator Bráulio Amado.
