“Rotting Fruit” By Kaleah Lee

Kaleah Lee shares “Rotting Fruit” which she debuted earlier this week at a sold out show supporting Searows in San Francisco. “Rotting Fruit” is the second single from her forthcoming debut EP out later this year. Following previous single "Where’d The Time Go?," an intimate track that provided a glimpse of Kaleah’s artistic prowess, “Rotting Fruit” follows in the same vein. With hushed vocals and a quietly picked guitar lead, Kaleah’s songwriting and lyrics are at the forefront, creating a shivering track that’s equal parts somber and uplifting. “‘Rotting Fruit’ was emotionally liberating to write,” says Kaleah. “Navigating through my beliefs, disbeliefs, and who I feel I am at my core has been challenging, but more importantly it’s been a very freeing process. I didn’t know how much I needed to release what I was feeling until I did through this song.” Stream Kaleah Lee’s “Rotting Fruit” Raised in suburban Vancouver, Kaleah began playing music at her church, eventually focusing on piano and guitar as she got older. She wrote her first original music in 2020, and was encouraged by her sister to release it. Kaleah started turning heads with her original songs on TikTok, amassing over 20 million views, 85k followers, and receiving the attention of Taylor Swift, Bon Iver, Maggie Rogers, Gracie Abrams, Mustafa, and more. That buzz turned into high demand for more new music; Kaleah responded in 2022 with a string of singles, including her debut, “Heavy Handed," resulting in over 5 million streams, playlist covers on Spotify’s coveted "Fresh Finds" and Tidal’s "Rising," and spots in Spotify’s "Fresh Finds Class of 2022" and Tidal’s "Rising Best of 2022.”
