“Rope Swing” Zack Villere featuring Dijon

Zack Villere, has shared a new for “Rope Swing”, featuring R&B/soul artist Dijon, a new visual taken from his latest album Cardboard City, released earlier this year via independently popular.

Filmed by Dan Streit (Charli XCX, Young Thug, Diplo), “Rope Swing” takes place in Zack’s native Louisiana. Both he and Dijon embark on various antics from boating in a bayou to taking turns on the titular swing. Just like the song, it’s lighthearted and comical, an artistic examination of the anticipation before the plunge.

Earlier this year, Zack released Cardboard City, which attracted the attention of Ones to Watch and Lyrical Lemonade. Unhurried and unpretentious, Cardboard City wears its heart on its sleeve. The album’s arrangements are equally tranquil, featuring piano and electric guitar at their warmest ones. To keep things interesting, productions are interspersed with sound effects that range from surprise electric reverb (“Knockout”) to vocal effects that resemble a braying sheep (“Hair Cut”). In support of the album, he embarked on his first headlining tour of the States.

Zack Villere is an artist, songwriter, and producer from Covington, Louisiana. His music career began while studying jazz saxophone in New Orleans. Early work showcased Zack as a producer releasing music under the moniker Froyo Ma and brought different artists into the fold of his unique electronic stylings.

After moving from Covington to Los Angeles in 2017, Villere released his debut Little World, the first under his full name, in June of that year. The release saw praise from artists across musical genres and culminated with a viral moment around the video for Zack’s song “Cool” from the album.
