Róisín Murphy announces her signing to Ninja Tune, along with her first new music since 2021, “CooCool”, produced by electronic music auteur DJ Koze. This summer, Murphy will be appearing MELT Festival, Secret Garden Party, Mighty Hoopla and more.

“Ostensibly a fragile little flower yet it has great hidden strength at the roots. There’s classic virtuosity and a lightness of touch, while DJ Koze’s hyper-modern production makes it bounce and glide. It’s a stupidly romantic little love poem. “This thing is way beyond any kind of parody”. Everything in this song is true and playful. Can we fall in love and retain our sense of humour? “Embrace your inner child!” Timeless, ageless, unavoidable love.” – Róisín Murphy

Murphy has released five albums; untouchable EP and single collaborations, working with the likes of David Byrne, Maurice Fulton, Andy Cato (Groove Armada), Matthew Herbert, DJ Parrot, David Morales and many more; numerous breathtaking fashion pairings with the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Chanel, Gucci, Alexandre Vauthier, Valentino, Bvlgari, Hermes, Max Mar and Armani to name just a few; Ibiza DJ sets; a podcast series; and most recently an acting role (in 2022’s Netflix’s series ‘The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself’).

The new single arrives after Murphy’s live-show announcement at London’s historic Royal Albert Hall on May 11th, which went on to sell out within 24 hours of going on sale. Murphy will deservedly take her place among the ranks of star-studded performers that have appeared at the iconic venue over the past century.

The “CooCool” artwork features Róisín herself, superimposed on an AI generated image from artist Beth Frey and commissioned by creative studio Object & Animal (who have previously worked with the likes of FKA Twigs, Caroline Polachek and Shygirl, and where Róisín is also Creative Director).
