The inspiration for Red Vienna began while Robbie Zgaljic and Jahmeel Russell were on tour in Europe. The band’s new album The Book of Hours was written over the last year. Drawing from their experience in previous projects Sparkmarker, Black Halos, Kittens and KEN mode the band has pushed their sound forward from their debut EP. Featuring 9 songs, the overall tone of the record is spiritual and dark. From the pulsing groove of “Golden Dove and “The Dead Lines” to the doom pop of “Forty Eight Graves” and “Lights Out” the record explores an eclectic mix of post-punk, soul, doom and droning dance grooves.
Today, Red Vienna have shared their brand new LP The Book Of Hours, now out on Locust Hail. You can stream the 9 song album in it’s entirety below.
