“Real” By Amen Sioux

Amen Sioux is the new project of singer/songwriter Mickey Pretto, formerly of New Yvory (Dim Mak). Recently, he shared his debut single “Real,” the track, was co-produced and engineered by long-standing collaborator Saint Cruy, also co-written/produced by Lorenzo Busellato. Amen Sioux’s music melds rock, psychedelia and electronica. His instinctive attitude unlocks the doors of perception by exploring the boundaries of modern-pop music, allowing the groundbreaking artist to constantly re-invent himself.

Amen Sioux on “Real:”

“Real” is a dispatch from a relationship in purgatory: “It’s just a dream, I’m drowning in my sins, I messed it up again you know” he sings in a voice that could boil water. As the fried guitars push and pull during the chorus, Amen Sioux’s anguish rushes to the foreground: “I’m willing to suspend my disbelief because I’m desperate, I’m pleading innocent girl” he wails before evoking raw and frenzied emotions with a squalling guitar solo. Amen Sioux proves that sifting through the detritus of love can be an electrifying experience.
