Provoker have collaborated with multi-artist Eyedress to release a video for their single “Freezing Alive.” This new video comes as the fourth video off Provoker’s sophomore-album, Demon Compass (YEAR0001) following “Debt Collector,” “Valley Ghoul,” and “It’s in My Head.” “Freezing Alive” continues to build on the genuine chemistry and dynamic between Provoker and Eyedress, with the two having already collaborated together and most recently played a show at The NOVO in LA last month. The single’s music video draws influence from early 90’s films as the heartbroken Christian Petty drinks his heartbreak away to the point where he’s literally frozen numb at his local dive bar following a breakup over the phone. The song’s melancholic lyrics over beach-pop drums and swirling guitar lead capture the disarray and disorientation that comes after accepting the chilling reality that the person you once felt was the one is no longer there.

Earlier this week, Provoker also announced that they would be going on a 27-show North American tour in support of Demon Compass. The tour is set to begin on February 12th in San Diego, California and will include stops in San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Toronto, and many more, before wrapping up in Los Angeles at Teragram Ballroom. The band will also be performing three shows at this year’s SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX along the way.

Crafted under the influence of a city where daily events flirt with myths, legends, and curses, this sophomore album channels rich darkness to tell a story of desire, loss, and confrontation. Written while waiting for the release of the band’s esoteric yet pop-oriented debut Body Jumper, Provoker found themselves shifting their focus from projecting familiar, shadowy figures to embodying them — if only as a means of accessing the dregs of their internal world and confronting the demons that lurk even deeper.
