Princess Nokia releases Mix Tape and Video

Princess Nokia releases Mix Tape 'Girl Cried Red' along with a Video for"Your Eyes Are Bleeding"
Princess Nokia

Princess Nokia released her mixtape A Girl Cried Red today via Rough Trade Records. The self-described “emo mixtape” follows her 2017 release 1992 Deluxe. The video for first single “Your Eyes Are Bleeding” was directed by Milah Libin and Frasqueri, and features footage from the last two years of touring behind the album.

The emcee has been releasing music via YouTube and Soundcloud since she was in high school and catapulted herself to the next level with 1992 Deluxe, playing venues across the globe and steadily gaining tens of millions of streams. A Girl Cried Red showcases another fully formed side of Destiny that still taps into the uncompromising feminist ideology of Princess Nokia, and will undoubtedly cement her place in the alternative underground as well as the hip-hop world.

The mixtape draws on influences as varied as the introverted acoustic sounds of Elliott Smith to the bombastic pop-punk energy of Paramore.

Princess Nokia will head out on tour supporting A Girl Cried Red, including headline U.S. shows in New York, San Francisco, Chicago and more.
