The Prettiots announce debut LP Funs Cool on Rough Trade

The Prettiots

Rough Trade Records is set to release the debut LP Funs Cool from The Prettiots out February 5, 2015 via Rough Trade Records

NYC’s The Prettiots (Kay Kasparhauser and Lulu Prat) will release their debut album, Funs Cool, on Feb 5 2016 via Rough Trade.

They recorded a Rough Trade session in Brighton UK Nov 5 – check out new track “18 Wheeler” from that session

Another cut from the session is a totally refashioned take on The Strokes’ “Someday” which is posted below.

With memorable hooks and heart on the sleeve lyrics, Funs Cool approach music from the shared reality of young women living in a big city and watching life unfurl in fits and starts.

Funs Cool comes on the heels of their first UK shows in November, and recent single, “Stabler,” at once an ode to Elliot Stabler, the detective with a heart of gold from NBC’s Law & Order series, and a wistful examination of idealism in romantic relationships.

Kasparhauser explained that the lyrics on the album “are completely honest…they’re 100% true to my thoughts at any given moment. I like to talk about Werner Herzog and sex.”
