POND share “The Weather” and tour dates

Pond

POND have just released “The Weather,” the final track on their album of the same name which is due out May 5th via Marathon Artists. A soaring, cosmic odyssey “The Weather” concludes the Perth based band’s most ambitious piece of work to date. Produced by Kevin Parker, “The Weather” sees the band hone their pop songcraft, if forever with a wryly-subversive twist.

Where themes of their music have previously been obscured, The Weather is very much based in the here and now. The album offers, amongst other things, the bands’ barometric reading of the current geo-political situation and reflects, both lyrically and musically, some of the confusing moral dilemmas faced around the globe. POND have previously streamed their hysteric mediation on the nuclear threat “30000 Megatons” and “Sweep Me Off My Feet;” a slick, synth-laden ode to romantic escapism.

Following sets at this years Coachella and a road trip throughout the US (joined by Ezra Furman at The Echo in Los Angeles), POND will bring their incendiary live show back to Europe in May for a massive run of dates, including their biggest London show to date at the O2 Forum Kentish Town. Tickets are available now from pondband.net.
