Pearla has dropped new single “Get In Touch With You.” The track is available today via Secretly Distribution, and arrives prior to her appearance at Nelsonville Music Festival (Kurt Vile, Alex G, Big Thief), as well as shows in New York City, Los Angeles, and more. The tour featured support from Miss Grit and A.O. Gerber respectively, as well as support for Kacy and Clayton later this summer.

This is the first offering from the project of Nicole Rodriguez since her debut album, released earlier this year on Spacebomb Records. She brings a playful grit and lighthearted twang to “Get In Touch With You,” inspired by Lucinda Williams and Bonnie Prince Billy. The song celebrates an intimate autonomy, a spiritual connection with one’s self, which allows for connection with others. It’s a timely consideration for Rodriguez, whose record label abruptly halted operations shortly after her debut. She embraced the unforeseen turn with honest introspection and a vibrant willingness—to keep bringing the internal to the external, creating incandescent music and delivering it to an audience she holds dear.

Nicole Rodriguez shares: “The song is about trying not to lose yourself in another person… the push and pull of wanting to be around someone and also trying to stay grounded in yourself. I wanted it to feel fun and funny and lighthearted because to me that’s what it feels like when you strike that balance… being present with your own honest heart and the people you love at the same time.”
