Los Angeles band Valley Queen have released new single after recording and touring, opening for acts such as Laura Marling, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Social Distortion, and performing on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, we decided to return to our roots, capturing a raw, band in a room sound to launch a new era for the band. Today, the band have dropped their brand new single “Open Hand”.

Lead singer Natalie Carol on “Open Hand”:

“Open Hand” was a song that started getting written down on a farm in rural Louisiana on an artist retreat at my friend Jennifer’s property, Bonne Terre. Every evening as the sun went down the cicadas would start singing so loud , it’s all you could hear. The song first began as a song to them on the front porch of my cabin. Singing to a friend far off in the distance, the song is a piece of telepathic mail that would later get received in real time.
