Boldy James and Canadian producer Nicholas Craven have have collaborated on new single “No Blemishes,” as well their new album Criminally Attached. “No Blemishes” officially marks the start of another chapter for one of the most prolific duos in modern-day Hip-Hop, having displayed their chemistry across critically-acclaimed albums like Fair Exchange No Robbery and Penalty of Leadership, naturally blending the gritty, reflective sound of Boldy James with Nicholas Craven’s sample-driven, soulful production. On “No Blemishes”, Boldy James taps into his signature heartfelt storytelling over a ’70s disco sample –– at the start of the track, he addresses and recounts his near-fatal car accident in early 2023: “the sound of the impact, when I crashed my sled” –– following it up with his detailed lived experiences growing up in Detroit.

In recent years, Boldy James has released eight full-length projects, including Highway with V Don. He followed with Token of Appreciation, a collaboration with Chuck Strangers, where songs like “Whale Fishing” and “Thank God” carried a looser, soulful energy that nodded to his early mixtape era.
