Night Beds Shares “Me Liquor & God”

Night Beds Present New Direction Via "Me Liquor & God" via Dead Oceans

It’s been almost a year since Night Beds, aka Colorado-bred, Nashville-based Winston Yellen, has released any new material. Today, he returns and presents a gorgeous new direction with “Me Liquor & God.” As the title and lyrics suggest, “Me Liquor & God” is about a descent into debauchery, and a reflection of what many hours in a dark studio can do to a relationship and the mind. The intro slide guitar harkens back to Country Sleep-era Night Beds but gives way to a smooth backing beat signaling a sexy, more adventurous sound. Logging countless hours in the studio over the past three years with a cast of musicians, including his brother Abe Yellen, now a firm fixture in the group, and a steady diet of R&B has led to fuller and sleeker arrangements that showcase Winston’s incredible voice. He first showcased this new approach on Tomas Barfod’s “Sell You” earlier this year.
