“Necromancer” by Seratones

Today Seratones share the music video for “Necromancer,” the A-side to their newly released 7-inch single on Fat Possum. The track is driven by frontwoman A.J. Haynes, whose thunderous vocals recall the grit of Janis Joplin and gospel of Mavis Staples.

“The video is a sneak peek into one of our favorite semi-secret places in our hometown, a roofless building where we used to put on happenings–experimental multimedia events…which inevitably turned into parties by the end of the night,” front woman A.J. Haynes explains of the music video. “It only seemed fitting to bring ‘Necromancer,’ a song about dancing, to that hallowed ground. The party spirit guided us thorough the video, drew us to the visual language of Dia de Los Muertos, and taught us that love transforms death into sweetness.”

Howling and wailing all the way from Louisiana with a whole lot of soul and raw talent, Seratones are beasts of the Southern wild and one of the best new rock & roll bands you’ll hear in 2015. The four-piece just released “Necromancer”/”Take It Easy” last month.

Seratones have a handful of tour dates with St. Paul and the Broken Bones starting later this month. See below to find a show near you.

Seratones are: A.J. Haynes (vocals), Connor Davis (guitar), Adam Davis (bass) and Jesse Gabriel (drums).
