Nanna’s new album How To Start A Garden was inspired by her childhood music teacher, fellow Icelander Bjork plus gardens and ghosts. The Icelandic artist today, has shared a new video for the album’s title-track. Fans can see Nanna live this summer when the Disaster Master Tour kicks off in July. In addition to her headline dates, she will be at two major US festivals including the Newport Folk Festival in Newport, RI, and Outside Lands in San Francisco, CA. She’ll also perform two shows at Iceland Airwaves Festival in November. Australian singer/songwriter Indigo Sparke will be direct support on all US tour dates.

Before creating How to Start a Garden, Nanna spent most of her twenties in recording studios around the world and on global tours with her multi-Platinum band, Of Monsters and Men, which arrived in 2011 to almost immediate ubiquity as their first album, My Head Is An Animal, topped charts worldwide. Their live stage presence landed them headlining festival spots around the world. With three critically acclaimed and globally successful albums under their belt, Nanna is now taking that invaluable experience with Of Monsters and Men and channeling it into a personal piece of art that she could only make herself.

Since announcing her debut solo project in January, Nanna has shared three advance tracks: “Godzilla,” “Crybaby,” and “Disaster Master.” Produced by Nanna alongside collaborators Aaron Dessner (The National, Taylor Swift) and Josh Kaufman (Bonny Light Horseman, War on Drugs, Hiss Golden Messenger), How to Start a Garden is a tremendous solo introduction from this highly acclaimed singer, songwriter and producer.
