San Diego’s Mrs Magician will be releasing their forthcoming release Bermuda next Friday. The follow up to the band’s debut, Strange Heaven. Today, you can get a taste of Bermuda by checking out the “quirky homage to Friday the 13th” with their video for the album cut ‘Eyes All Over Town.’

Cutting through the lacquer with a glossy shimmer, producer John Reis (Drive Like Jehu, Rocket From The Crypt, Hot Snakes) conducts the bands rigid tones that serve nicely as a morose well-crafted backdrop for Jacob Turnbloom’s vocal approach and the bands tightly performed structures. Far more non linear lyrically than their 2012 debut album Strange Heaven, the subtext on Bermuda boasts a familiar echo of self deprecating humor that was heavily present on the bands previous albums, but focusing less on inner personal relationships. “Bermuda has a boozy island malaise on the surface of the water, while beneath the waves we’re exposed to themes of confusion, nihilism, and the notion that even with all of our technology and omnipresence of big brother; essentially we are all still very lost,” says frontman Jacob Turnbloom.

Bermuda will be released everywhere on May 20, 2016 via Swami Records. In celebration, the band hitting the road next week for a headlining US tour. A full list of dates can be found below.
