Sophie Auster has shared her new single “Mexico.” The song is off her brand new album Next Time. The singer/songwriter’s first release in four years. The album was Produced in the Swedish countryside by Tore Johansson (New Order, Tom Jones, a-Ha) Next Time was written in 2016, and marks the first time, she has recorded outside of North America.

The record’s first single “Mexico” will be featured in John Turturro’s new film, ‘Going Places,’ a spinoff of ‘The Big Lebowski,’ centered around the notable character Jesus Quintana. The film also stars Audrey Tautou, Bobby Cannavale, Susan Sarandon, and Pete Davidson.

The daughter of writers Paul Auster and Siri Hustevdt, Auster has inherited her parent’s sense of poetry and carved a path for herself as a songwriter, receiving several awards abroad and at home including the 2016 Grand Prize at The John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
