Harper Simon’s Meditations on Crime project shared “Robbin’ Hoods” featuring Quelle Chris, Jean Grae, and Money Mark (Beastie Boys, Beck, Danger Mouse). Over over grimy and groovy drums and bass, Chris and Grae spit about the morality of crime in an unjust system making for a track that hits the body as much as the mind. The track comes with a tense visualizer compiled from vintage stock footage, adding to the single’s consumer menace.

The release comes as the project enters its next phase. On October 3, the accompanying softcover Meditations on Crime book (ft. artwork + essays from Miranda July, Hooman Majd, Jerry Stahl, Cindy Sherman, Tracey Emin, Julian Schnabel, Raymond Pettibon) will be available everywhere alongside a physical release of last year’s self-titled album (ft. Julia Holter, Gang Gang Dance, King Khan, Sun Ra Arkestra), while a short film narrated by Katherine Waterston (Babylon, Alien: Covenant, Inherent Vice) recently premiered at LA’s MOCA.
