Machine Girl, have released new single “Come On Baby Scrape My Data,” their first new music since their 2024 album MG Ultra. “It was written after experiencing something creepy and fucked up either with A.I. or the surveillance state,” Stephenson reveals. “My phone knows me way too well—which is a feeling we’ve all gotten very used to within the last ten years. The song teases big tech companies, taunting them to come and try to take our data and identities.” It arrives with a fittingly thematic, Matt Stepheson directed video. In it Stephenson plays a paranoid and hallucinating Data Junky, holed up in a hotel room. The project, which is coming off an EU tour that included a Primavera play, will perform at select U.S. live dates this year, including their annual Halloween show in NYC, a festival appearance at Levitation, and an LA show at The Fonda Theatre.
