Lo-Fang ANNOUNCES New EP, Blue Film

Lo-Fang ANNOUNCES New EP, Blue Film, on tour with Rhye

LA-based producer Matthew Hemerlein released his debut album, Blue Film, earlier this year and just over six months later, he’s on the cusp of new things.

Classically trained in violin, cello, bass, piano and guitar, Blue Film is rich in soulful falsetto floats above a rich blend of classical, R&B and electronic music, telling stories of love, loss and deceit. The album was written and recorded during Hemerlein’s world travels, completing it at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles with GRAMMY Award winning producer Francois Tetaz.

Airing this week, his rendition of John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John’s ‘You’re The One That I Want’ was hand picked by director Baz Luhrmann (The Great Gatsby, Moulin Rouge, Romeo & Juliet) to base Chanel’s new global ad campaign for their flagship No. 5 brand around. In the lavish three and a half minute version, supermodel Gisele Bündchen and actor Michiel Huisman’s love story plays out to the song, while Matthew stars, performing the track.

Lo-Fang is now on a month long tour with Rhye in the US and to coincide has released a new mixtape, Every Night, which features reworked album cuts and a brand new song, the title track ‘Every Night’
