Bluesfest is Ottawa, Ontario’s annual outdoor music festival whose history spans from 1994, with a modest crowd of 5,000, to last year’s attendance reaching more than 300,000. 2016’s festival will be taking place from July 7 to the 17 at Lebreton Flats, with smaller offsite stages and attractions spread further through Ottawa.

Headliners for this year include the Red Hot Chili Peppers (playing Fri. July 15), Duran Duran (Sat. July 16), Brad Paisley (Wed. July 13), Earl Sweatshirt (Sat. July 9), and City & Colour (Sun. July 17). Other bands in this year’s lineup include DZ Deathrays, Freddie Gibbs, Pup, Peter Bjorn and John, and Tallest Man on Earth.

Despite what the name may suggest, Bluesfest has grown to adopt a wide range of genres and age groups, supporting both local Canadian bands and international superstars. Notable artists and bands who have performed in recent years include B.B. King, Bob Dylan, Iggy and the Stooges, Kanye West, The Killers, Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, Rush, and Weezer.
