Brightmoon is the Los Angeles duo comprised of Becca Mohler and Billy Mohler.  Their forthcoming six-song EP, First Light, will drop on the boutique UK shoegaze record label Noon Records. Their new single Lies About The Sky is a cover of the Washington, DC-based pioneering, post-hardcore band, Shudder to Think. Becca has deep ties with the DC punk scene, having once worked at the legendary 930 Club. “It’s one of those songs that’s so bizarre it’s almost unplayable. You can’t find another cover of it,” Billy says with a good-natured laugh.

Brightmoon is the imaginary land in the animated superhero series, She-Ra and the Princess of Power, a favorite from Becca Mohler’s childhood. Every time the vocalist and lyricist heard a character reference it in the show, the place sounded ethereal and magical. When Mohler and her husband—producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Billy Mohler—set out to codify their new band, the name and those feelings became foundational inspirations.
