Lettuce have released their video for lead single “Checker Wrecker.” The track is off forthcoming release Resonate out May 8th via Round Hill Records. “Checker Wrecker,” inspired by Lettuce’s longstanding passion for Washington D.C. go-go music, the missing link between hip-hop and funk, features DC go-go music legends Big Tony Fisher of Trouble Funk and Tyrone “Jungle Boogie” Williams of Rare Essence. Resonate was helmed by esteemed producer and engineer Russ Elevado [D’Angelo, The Roots, Erykah Badu] and written and recorded during the same Colorado Sound Studio sessions for Elevate.

“We all grew up bumpin late 80s hip-hop and didn’t realize until later that we were listening to samples of go-go bands like Trouble Funk and Rare Essence,” shares drummer Adam Deitch. “To get Big Tony Fisher and Tyrone ‘Jungle Boogie’ Williams in the video is epic for us. They are the originators of the go-go sound and the vibe they bring is electric! This particular show in DC was absolutely wild and the crowd was on fire! We are so happy to have captured this experience in one video!”
