Lawrence Rothman announces live Euro Dates

Lawrence Rothman announces live Euro Dates . Shows include dates in London and Paris. The tour will start February 3rd in Dalston, Uk.

With a daring auteur like Floria Sigismondi as a co-conspirator, Lawrence Rothman was never going to be your run of the mill musician. Making music that’s lushly ethereal, dark, and just a little bit preoccupied with the more dangerous side of life, Rothman attracted the attention of  director Sigismondi (famed for her videos for the likes of Bjork, David Bowie, Sigur Ros and Justin Timberlake, as well as her debut feature “The Runaways”) who became infatuated, helping Rothman realise his visual direction while also making him the first signing to her label Mamaroma.

Together, they have created three videos – the first, featuring Rothman dressed up as a faded Elizabeth Taylor in the Chateau Marmont, and the second starring Rothman as a beaten up twentysomething wandering the streets of LA. They have created a striking, idiosyncratic parallel universe which casts Rothman as a Cindy Sherman-esque figurehead – disassociated from reality even as he is creating it. The music, meanwhile, is just as strange, soulful and emotive, and none moreso than on his new track, “Fatal Attraction”.

Now, Lawrence Rothman is heading over to Europe for his first ever live shows, playing a free show at Birthdays on February 3 before going to Paris for two more gigs, one at Silencio and the other one supporting the brilliant Woodkid.
