King Gizzard & The Lizard debut new video

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Premiere "God Is In The Rhythm," Announce New 'Quarters'

Count on this group of Australian weirdos to come up with an idea like this – a 12” of four songs, each 10 minutes and 10 seconds long, accompanied by an insane painting of four different worlds melding together. Who are we to refuse them? This not quite an EP not quite an LP take a sharp turn into the wispy and mellow. “God Is In The Rhythm” effervesces like a prom dance when the acid starts kicking in, and Lonely Steel Sheet Flyer circles ever upward like a friendly smoke signal from a beach fire – at 10 minutes apiece, the boys have plenty of room to stretch out around the songs, and they do so with loose limbs and stoned smiles. Altogether it feels like it flies in on dragonfly wings, lazily basks in the sun for a bit, and follows the sunset over the horizon…no doubt to write another record.

The band thought to honor the inherent twenty-five percent of this record with a special Drawn and Quartered edition – the colored vinyl will be quarter pie-slices of Translucent Red, Opaque Grimace Purple, Translucent Ice Blue, and black, and the artwork will be a custom designed poster of the full artwork that folds into a gatefold jacket for the record, and opens up to a 24” x 24” poster of the art on one side and the lyrics on the other. It’ll only be available from their webstore and from the band directly, so do yourself a (huge) favor and sign up for the mailing list here.
