17-year-old singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist KALI shares their new single and accompanying video for “Addicted.” Fresh off of a U.S. tour run with Claud and a bust week at SXSW, KALI expands upon the new sonic foundation laid by their previous single “Anybody Else.” Over squealing guitars and an undeniable melody, “Addicted” is a song about self-growth at its root, telling the story of falling head over heels for someone, realizing they aren’t who you wanted the to be, and accepting this painful reality. The accompanying visual, directed by Zealand Yancy, shows off KALI’s playful side, set in a game of pickup basketball against a mischievious slug-masked opponent.

A recognized musical talent from a young age, they play a majority of the instruments on the project themselves, with additional production from Miro Mackie (The Neighbourhood, St. Vincent, Wallows) and Daniel Chae (of Run River North). The EP synthesized KALI’s own experiences as a teenager, and those of their friends via stories and recorded voicemails, into a cohesive body of work centered around their self-discovery.
