Julian Casablancas and the Voidz unveiled their newest track, “Flexorcist.” This release is accompanied by a Double-Header music video, which pairs with their summer 2023 track, “Prophecy of the Dragon.” Directed by Johann Rashid (AKA the artist Promiseland), the video includes cameos from Mac Demarco, Weyes Blood, Jim Morrison, and more. On October 31st, The Voidz are set for a sold-out four-night run at Brooklyn’s Murmrr Theatre.

NYC-staple, Baby’s All Right, is presenting this residency in honor of their 10th anniversary – to coincide as well with the Murmurr Theatre’s grand reopening. These performances mark the band’s first in the NYC area in over four years.

ABOUT THE TRACK “FLEXORCIST”:

Herein lies a message from their director of social media: “Greetings, It is I Tron Cole, Chief Shaman of Voidz Social Media… I have retuned after a cosmic sabbatical.
I’ve been recalibrating my chakras in the Sacred Sensitivity Temple under the guidance of Guru StarFeather. Let us now harmonize our frequencies with some exciting new things from The Voidz. Recently, on a night in Venice California, I was beckoned by a siren’s song — Venice’s streets, known for their bohemian whispers, held a secret my soul unknowingly thirsted for.

As I meandered down the boardwalk, surrounded by rollerbladers and acid casualties,

a sound compelling me which was not just music. It was an aurora of sonic euphoria, a tantalizing tapestry. Was this what Manzerik had felt when he first heard James Douglas Morrison sing to him acapella – as seen in the Oliver Stone classic?

A slightly ajar studio door with peeling paint stood before me. I dared to step into this sanctum. In the midst stood The Voidz, Gods amongst Memers, Lords of Reddit, orchestrating what felt like a rhapsody for the end of days. Julian Casablancas, eyes ablaze, looked up and seemed to see right through me, into my very essence. Julian caught my eye and smirked, as if he knew I was intruding yet didn’t mind. “You seem lost, but perhaps you’ve found what you didn’t know you were looking for,” he remarked cryptically (was he making a subtle U2 reference? I could not be sure). As their newest work “Flexorcist” played – the boundaries of music and magic blurred, and every note became an echo of a world beyond our own.

Dear readers, today the magic I felt is but a play button away; venture forth and let The Voidz’s newest symphony whisper to your soul.

…and don’t forget, always like and subscribe.”

ALSO About The Track:

Flexorcist has been described as a blend of early 90s fun dancey pop r&b, with a splash of Stevie Wonder-Prince influence & always a touch of space magic and melodic wine.

Apologies for Tron’s PR tak-over, some things can’t be controlled at Halloween.
