Singer/songwriter and guitarist José González has shares a new remix by Ela Minus of the song “Visions,” taken from his latest album, Local Valley. On her reworking, the Colombian-American Domino artist interlaces her ethereal vocals and trademark dreamy electronic melodies with González’s original elements. Recently, the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM) recognized Local Valley with the 2022 Libera Award for Best Folk/Bluegrass Record. In May, González received the Swedish Grammy for Singer-Songwriter of the Year.

Of her remix, Ela Minus says, “It was beautiful to get to work with José’s music. His work has been a consistent company throughout my life, it was very special to be allowed to enter his world and be a small part of it.”

Reflecting on the reinterpretation, González says, “I love how Ela Minus made the song more forward looking and dreamy with warm electronic layers and adding her beautiful voice on it. Fits great with the more futuristic side of the lyrics I feel.”

This new offering follows the Swing and El Invento EPs which include remixes by artists such as Sofia Kourtesis, Solomun, and Roosevelt alongside González’s own reworkings of the two Local Valley singles.
