J Mascis’ previously announced North American and European tour schedule in support of Tied to a Starbegins September 20th in Florence, MA at 13th Floor Music Lounge and ends on December 20th in Helsinki, FI at Nostrui. New additions to the tour include four dates in France: December 10th in Tours at Temps Machine; December 11th in Bordeaux, FR at Le Krakatoa; December 12th in Paris, FR at Maroquinerie; and December 13th in Reims at La Cartonnerie. J recently teamed up with Fred Armisen and Funny or Die for the “Every Morning” video. The hilarious visual was directed by Danny Jelinek, and tells the tale of a religious cult called “The Space Children Of The Forest” and their mysterious disappearance. 

Tied to a Star, led by the songs “Every Morning” and “Wide Awake,” was recorded and produced by Mascis and mixed by John Agnello at Bisquiteen in Amherst, MA. Tied to a Star also features guest appearances from musicians Ken Maiuri (Young@Heart Chorus), Pall Jenkins (Black Heart Procession), Mark Mulcahy (Miracle Legion) and Chan Marshall (Cat Power).
