Island guest on ‘Records In My Life’

UK band Island joined us for a chat about influential music, prior to their show at the Fox Theatre in Vancouver, BC. The band offered up several new albums for us to check out. We even managed to get, all the guys to let us know which music they prefer to do housework to! Islands are touring behind their current release Feels Like Air, now available via Frenchkiss Records.

Forming as teenagers when frontman Rollo Doherty’s acoustic bedroom project was treated to the boisterous backing of guitarist Jack Raeder, bassist James Wolfe and drummer Toby Richards in a dingy windowless practice room where they began to painstakingly shape a sound which combined darkly twisting instrumental with a sweetly melodic song-writing nous that belied their age.
