Interpol have released new single “Iron City,” another taste of the legendary indie rockers forthcoming release This Mirror Weighs a Ton. Dropping on August 28th via their new label Partisan Records (Cigarettes After Sex, Idles, Geese). “iIron City” follows previous singles “This Mirror Weighs a Ton” and “See Out Loud.”

This Mirror Weighs a TonCharli xcx) and mixed by David Fridmann (Sleater-Kinney, MGMT), This Mirror Weighs a Ton expands Interpol’s sonic palette with the addition of strings, woodwinds, layered vocal harmonies, acoustic guitar and experimental sound design while maintaining the band’s signature rhythmic and melodic approach. The album was recorded at Wyatt’s studio on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, marking the band’s first time making a record in their original home base in over a decade.

Next month, the band will begin a 23-date North American headline tour, stops include a hometown festival appearance at CBGB Festival Under the K Bridge in Brooklyn, The Bowl at Sobeys Stadium in Toronto, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park in San Diego and The Salt Shed Fairgrounds in Chicago. Select dates will feature support from Youth Lagoon, Loathe, julie, DIIV and French Police, with the band also set to support SOMBR in Vancouver.
