“In The Grass” Jackson MacIntosh

Jackson MacIntosh (TOPS) has shared the video for his single “In The Grass,” a track from his debut album My Dark Side. Of the music he notes, “A mysterious little song that I wrote in Los Angeles and recorded on a four track as quickly as I could before I tried to figure out what exactly I was singing about. Rian Davidson, an old friend who I grew up with in Cape Breton Island, had the idea for the video, and when I was in Berlin we shot it with his fancy little drone on a mostly cloudy day. I appreciated the clouds since I spent most of the afternoon laying on the ground staring at the sky.”

MacIntosh’s resume pinpoints him near the epicenter of Montreal’s burgeoning pop and electronic music scenes. Beyond his solo career he is the bassist for, fellow Montrealers, TOPS. Macintosh has also recorded and engineered the last two albums for labelmate Homeshake at his now-defunct home Montreal studio and venue, Drones Club. He has collaborated with Drugdealer as well as Montreal’s Bernardino Femminielli, all in addition to fronting the Montreal band Sheer Agony.
