Machinedrum has collaborated with Duckwrth on new single “ILIKEU” – the second track to be released from Travis’ forthcoming new album 3FOR82, out 24th May on Ninja Tune. Travis Stewart comments, “we built the track together and intentionally made unconventional arrangement choices that added unpredictability in how the song flows” Speaking on the collaboration Duckwrth comments, “I’ve been a fan of Machinedrum since 2008, when I was a punk kid running around SF, wishing I was in the NY scene. The 25 year old in me is stanning so hard for the fact that we have a song together lol”

Travis’ journey to making 3FOR82 began, fittingly, on 3/4. For his 41st birthday, on March 4th last year, when he ventured out to Joshua Tree National Park, California, to seek clarity and inspiration for what became his 11th studio album as Machinedrum; 12 high-intensity, ruminative tracks that thread the needle between his past, present and future selves.

Between drum & bass, hip-hop, jazz, R&B and juke, Stewart weaves in an impressive crew of collaborators on ‘3FOR82’ including Jesse Boykins III, the album’s co-executive producer, plus various contributions from KUČKA, AKTHESAVIOR, Mick Jenkins, Ezri, Tanerélle, Deniro Farrar, Topaz Jones, deem spencer, aja monet, ROZET, Will Johnson, Ian Maciak and Tinashe – who features on the recently released lead single “ZOOM”, which received support from The FADER, Stereogum, RA, Clash, i-D and more.

Machinedrum takes his live AV show featuring drummer Ian Maciak and visuals by Strangeloop Studios on tour this Spring/Summer. Headline shows kicked off in Australia and NZ (Feb/Mar), followed by North America in (May/Jun) and UK/EU planned for July. 2024 summer festivals include: Electric Forest, Northern Nights, Shambala, Bass Coast, Outlook, Boomtown, NOX On The Beach, Let it Roll, Melt, Dotville, Frequency, Lowlands, Great Festival, as well as Lightning in a Bottle on the 24th May, where Machinedrum will be celebrating the album’s release with a special Do Lab listening party.
