Hundred Waters Reveal New Album, New Song

Hundred Waters Reveal New Album, New Song. Their new album will be coming out on May 27th via OWSLA. Hundred Waters will play this year at SXSW at OWSLA.

Electronically inclined art-pop quartet Hundred Waters have unveiled a video for previously unreleased single “Cavity”, in conjunction with the announcement that their sophomore album has been scheduled for aMay 27th release via OWSLA. Arriving on the heels of their unexpected new song “Down From the Rafters”, “Cavity” sees the group steering their blend of electronics and live instrumentation into decidedly darker, more complex terrains. The Michael Langan-directed clip pairs i visual effects (almost all rendered by flashlight, as opposed to CGI) with sonics that indicate the hallmarks of the band’s new material: an increased attention to complex rhythms and lush textures buoyed by Nicole Miglis’ , virtuosic vocals. The band will be heading to SXSW for a series of shows (full list below) that will touch on the new album material.

Hundred Waters’ members (Nicole MiglisTrayer TryonPaul Giese, & Zach Tetreault) formed the group in 2012 when they became housemates in Gainseville, FL. The four found themselves inclined to collaboration while living under one roof, sharing a communal mentality that yielded a blend of musical contradictions: mournful yet colorful, introverted yet aware. Their self-titled debut soon attracted the most unlikely of allies, Skrillex, who signed the band to his OWSLA label that same year and gave the album a full-scale release, leading to worldwide touring with such diverse acts as The xxAlt-JGrimes, & Julia Holter.
