Horsegirl Debut "World of Pots and Pans"

Horsegirl have had a busy 2022, beginning with the announcement of their debut album, Versions of Modern Performance, their debut album for Matador Records, which is due out on June 3, 2022. Today, the band have dropped a new Single and visualizer for “World of Pots and Pans.” The track follows their previous singles “Billy,” and “Ballroom Dancing.” The band recorded Versions of Versions of Modern Performance at Chicago’s Electrical Audio with John Agnello (Kurt Vile, The Breeders, Dinosaur Jr.).

The chicago trio is comprised of Penelope Lowenstein (guitar, vocals), Nora Cheng (guitar, vocals), and Gigi Reece (drums) – the best friends comprising Horsegirl – do everything collectively, from songwriting to trading vocal duties and swapping instruments to sound and visual art design. Reece and Cheng, college freshmen, and Lowenstein, a high school senior, learned to play—and met—through the significant network of Chicago youth arts programs. The warmth and strength of their bond crackles through every second of their debut.
