Yot Club, is the project of Los Angeles based multi-artist Ryan Kaiser, he recently released his new single “Here & Now.” The song, is the second taste from his forthcoming album Simpleton, available April 17. Yot Club will hit the road fora 25-date North American headline tour, with stops in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and more.

After its original demo was stranded on a lost laptop,“Here & Now” was rebuilt from the ground up, turning an initial setback into an opportunity for clarity and refinement. Written in collaboration withKevin Patrick Sullivan from Field Medic, the song found its focus through as hared thematic lens, transforming early uncertainty into confidence. The result is a carefully refined track that balances instinctive energy with thoughtful restraint, rewarding repeat listenerswith its nuanced layers.“Here & Now is a song I wrote with Kevin from Field Medic over at his place. It’s a song about being overwhelmed and disassociated, which is kind of a tough thing to write about,” Kaiser explains. “I originally wanted this record to be kind of mathy-with tempo and key changes throughout. It wasn’t until later I decided to lean into the simple ideas I used to avoid.”

“When I first started, I was posting music into the void with no expectations that anyone would hear it,”Kaiser explains.“Under-mixing the vocals was really popular around 2019 and 2020, but I want the lyrics to cut through now because I’m putting a lot more care into what I’m saying. I feel more ready now to write about something nuanced, whereas a few years ago I’d probably just say, ‘I’ll write about my dog.’ I’ve realized it all has to mean something–otherwise, what’s the point?” Like the music itself, Simpleton’s artwork, a painting from Jake Longstreth, one of Kaiser’s favorite artists, resists flash in favor of feeling. Instead, it’s a striking slice of Americana, a nondescript fast food joint pointing to the sort of malaise that can settle in when comfort replaces curiosity. At onep oint in Kaiser’s life, those familiar scenes were just scenery; now, as his understanding of theworld and his place in it have grown, they read differently–reflective of a shifting sense of perspective and gravity that now marks his songs.
