Hazel English is a 25-year-old Oakland-based artist who makes indie-pop music powered by transcendent melodies and caked in layers of Californian sunshine and redolent reverb. Last month, she announced her debut 12-inch vinyl EP, Never Going Home, set for an October 7 release through House Anxiety/Marathon Artists.

Those that have followed her ascendance through the blogosphere so far will recognise the title track “Never Going Home” – to commemorate the EP announcement it reappeared complete with an accompanying video trailing her mountaintop journey through local idyls – as well as “It’s Not Real”. Both of the aforementioned tracks were first premiered in demo-form via her SoundCloud and have clocked up over a million listens between them. The EP also contains three entirely unheard new gems in “Control”, “Make It Better” and recent instalment “I’m Fine”.

Filmed at San Francisco’s Tiny Telephone studios, the video for “It’s Not Real” provides a taste of the enchanting performances audiences in the UK and Europe can expect this November.

“Control” and “Make It Better” will be unearthed very soon (with Hazel dropping a new track from the EP on Spotify / iTunes / Soundcloud every three weeks), and the whole record is available to pre-order now on limited edition collectors vinyl.

Having extensively toured the west coast, Hazel will now take her acclaimed live show further afield, with details of a first European run listed below.

See Hazel English at the following UK/EU dates:

November 19 | The Poetry Club, Glasgow
November 20 | Headrow House, Leeds
November 21 | The Waiting Room, London
November 23 | Paradiso, Amsterdam
November 24 | Botanique Witloofbar, Brussels
