“Haunted House” Holly Humberstone

Holly Humberstone, has shared her new single “Haunted House.” The song was written about the crumbling, haunted house she grew up in, which has been the setting for Holly’s remarkable artistry to come to life. Holly continues to create new world’s within her music and visual identity, understanding the art of storytelling with everything she has released from day one. ‘Haunted House’ explores themes of home, family and displacement, with the video an ode to saying goodbye to the childhood home, evoked through life “feeling like it’s spinning out of control,” says Holly.

From Holly Humberstone:

I wrote this song about the old and characterful house I grew up in. The house is such a huge part of who I am and our family. With my sisters and I moving out and living separate lives, coming home feels very comforting and one of the only things keeping us all connected. The house is almost falling down around us now though, and we’ve realised that pretty soon we’ll be forced to leave. There’s a cellar full of meat hooks and a climate so damp mushrooms grow out of the walls. Loads of people have probably died here in the past but I’ve always felt really safe. It’s like a seventh family member. It’s part of me.”

Holly has performed on Jimmy Kimmel! Live, as well as BBC’s Music’s Introducing Live, and featured in VEVO’s DSCVR At Home series.
