Kiwi Jr., have released a new revved up video for “Hard Drive, Ontario,” which is a million times more fun than Cyber Monday. The song is the follow-up to the band’s LP Chopper. now out via Sub Pop Records. The band have toured in 13 countries and opened up for Pavement, The Walkmen, Dinosaur Jr, Guided By Voices, The Lemonheads, Frank Black, Islands, New Pornographers, Cloud Nothings and Protomartyr, and more. They are currently at work on their fourth album. Kiwi Jr. is Jeremy Gaudet vocals and guitar, Brian Murphy guitar, Mike Walker bass, Brohan Moore drums, and everybody played a little bit of keyboard.

“We spent the afternoon driving go-karts in Niagra Falls. Our friend Sean Foreman directed the video and put the whole thing together. On camera, it probably doesn’t look like we’re going that fast, but they actually go like 40km/hour, which on a small track is intense. Walker was definitely going to win no matter what, and I got stuck with a kart that was spitting fumes out the back so everyone was trying to get around me.

To add some pageantry, the camera guy Blake invited his Elvis impersonator uncle – who has a beard and is probably thirty years older than Elvis ever was – and he was fantastic. His grandfather is also in there waving a checkered flag at the end too.

When we shot the video, the Blue Jays were in the world series, so Walker is wearing his Blue Jays jacket for good luck. At the last minute before shooting I decided to wear a fur hat – who knows why we do these things.”
