Gustaf Debut New Single “Close”

Gustaf have released new single "Close," the song is off the band's forthcoming album Package Pt. 2, available April 5th via Royal Mountain

Gustaf, the Brooklyn no wave / post-punk band have a new album on the way April 5th and today they are back with another single for “Close,” a four-minute driving, angular assault. The song follows “Here Hair / Hard Hair” and the first single “Starting and Staring.” The band, who recently announced and immediately sold out a London headline show will kick off a UK tour with Yard Act today in Norwich. Shortly after that concludes they’ll be back in the US for a 23-date headline tour in support of the album. The band have already toured with IDLES, Yard Act, and Sleaford Mods, and have won the praises of Beck.

Package 2, will drop on April 5th via Royal Mountain Records. The LP is Gustaf’s first album since 2021’s Audio Drag for Ego Slobs, the album confronted the struggle to deal with the narrator’s surroundings, finding ways to behave in a way where their emotions and actions didn’t alienate most everyone, Package Pt. 2 becomes self-aware, wondering what they might change to make life, relationships, and love a little more manageable presented via a post-punk dream brought with unique vocal performances throughout. The album was produced by Erin Tonkon, who worked on David Bowie’s Blackstar, the album was recorded at Studio G Brooklyn and Circular Ruin.
