Gracie has essentially one goal: maintaining complex harmonies within a simple presentation. This involves a number of distinctly different styles and approaches, melded with the songwriting stylings of leader Gracie Jackson. Citing pulp surf and dreamy girl group music-Gracie wants to sound like a ghost. She focuses on guitar driven music with rhythm and vocal harmony taking precedence over lead lines. These songs (often called ‘bummer jams’) take a more melancholic approach, with low tunings and strong-man drums pushing the sound forwards. This band is full of strong men. Gracie’s self-titled debut album will be released September 18th via Nathan Williams’  (Wavves) Ghost Ramp imprint.
